Sounds like...

A certain other piece you wrote, under a different name. Still, I like that song, and this one was improved in almost every way.

Good job!

MaestroRage responds:

It is in fact! Under SoulStrings (Now MaestroSegments), I am revamping those songs and uploading them here, as I enjoy some of them a good deal.

Expect a few more from there... I already have my teeth sharpening a few more ;).

Thank you for the review UtterNonsense, greatly appreciated! I'm glad you enjoyed the track!

Not classic, but...

It's sort of hip-hop classic. That can be forgiven, though: this is one of the coolest songs I've heard on Newgrounds in a while. The bells in the background were my favorite touch: they made it really feel like Christmas.

You're very good at making things catchy, while still very diverse. You made my new song feel unloved: I don't like it as much as this, so I've sorta excommunicated it. :P

Oh, and please, PLEASE, write a song for a concert band for my school. As in, no strings at all, but parts for the other main instruments. Oh, and include a flute solo. XD

I can't wait 'till Christmas, now. I want to play this song for present-opening. (Oh, wait, I'm Jewish...)

MaestroRage responds:

You made teh new song?! Well you must let me hear it, or I will throw a internet fit, and turns off my internetz >:(!

Simple is catchy my good sir, any melody that can be learned within minutes or better yet seconds, is immediately catchy. Of course this isn't the case all the time, but generally speaking, simple tunes are the easily nemembered ones.

I'm quite interested in this school concert band, if you could tell me what instruments you have, i'd design one just for kicks, perhaps your band would enjoy hearing it.

Also, flute solo = yes!

As for your gift, i'll send you a cradle, which I made out of clay on christmas, so gift is related ;).

Thank you for the review UtterNonsense, i'm glad you found the piece enjoyable ^^.

Very mixed-up piece

This song is really nice in that it didn't sound like anything I've heard before. A nice mix of techno, dance, and almost-but-not-quite jazz with that piano. It stayed good throughout.

The one thing I didn't like was that the sound quality sounded a bit murky. Maybe it was my speakers (they just recently got plugged in), but something seemed distorted.

Overall, though, excellent song! This one is already on my iPod- record timing for a NG artist.

HouseMasta responds:

thanks a lot for the 10! idk if it was your speakers or not. could have been

Amazing.

Your tribute blew me away. Milkman was one of the best classical artists on here, and the fact that he's leaving is sad as hell. I hope he appreciates this piece as much as I did.

On a musical note: varied, nice mood changes, and moving. One of your best pieces so far.

BTW, check your Wolf messages sometime, man! I've PMed you like three times, and no response. >_>

MaestroSorrow responds:

I so checked my messages, and there are only two, so teh hah!

Sorry about that, i'll be more careful from here on ;).

It's sad, but Dan knows what Dan's doing so best of luck to him. Thanks for the review, means a good deal to me UtterNonsense.

Wow, leave this place for a month...

Remember back in February, when we were talking and you were complaining about how everybody zero'ed your work and the only two artists people listened to were B0UNC3 and Paragon9X?

I hate to be the one to break it to you, man, but you're getting yourself a fan club now.

This is Alan's theme for Tristan's story? Or was this for Knights of Eadon? If the latter, I can't believe I missed this one in-game.

Anyway, as I've said: of all the artists I know, you're the one that improves his skill the quickest. You've compoesed for ten months, and your mastery of music theory is obvious. Rather than using one or two lines of music, and just have multiple instruments playing, you get a very nice blend of music now. Before, listening to your music was enjoyable; now, it's a treat.

The one thing I noticed that I didn't like so much in your music was that the part with the bells seemed to clash with the choir aahs a little. There was just one second where things seemed a bit off.

Congrats on your success on Newgrounds!

MaestroSorrow responds:

This is indeed Alan's theme for Tristan's story.

I fully agree with your analysis on the bells, though for most part, this was a very experimental piece, and i'm quite surprised it turned out the way it did.

Thanks for the review man, always appreciated ^^.

Amazing song

As techno songs go, this is easily one of the best out there. It never gets tedious, has a totally original sound to it, and is currently moving its way over to my iPod. Thanks, HouseMasta and DjVisor, for another excellent piece!

HouseMasta responds:

sweet, ipod worthiness! thanks a lot for the 10, i appreacite it a lot!

The people giving this a zero...

...are the people with no taste in music at all. Moving, powerful, and varied. I liked your use of percussion in the piece, since I know from experience that it's the hardest part of writing music.

You guys should team up more often! ^_^

MilkMan-Dan responds:

... it's a vicious circle... people get voted zero... then they want to be on top again... so they lower other peoples scores... and then those people want to be on top... and so on and so on... it's sickening.. if your on top... your garenteed a barriage of zeros from 13 year old artists who just can't seem to get the hang of Acid Music or Fruity Loops enough to create anything worth top charts...

rant done

Thanks for the review...:)

Stunning piece!

There's a reason this one's at the top of the classical lists. Very nice work, yet again. You got the "fairy" idea down fine, and I liked the fact that it was darker: not Disney fairies, more like Artemis Fowl.

MilkMan-Dan responds:

I like the darkness of it too... I wish I had a good violin sound. Oh how I wish I could put violin in my work. :( this song really needed it. Thanks :)>

It's a good composer...

that evokes part of his own character into his work. When I hear your stuff I can tell it's yours right away. This piece sounded a bit like Harry Potter music, and hey! That got its way into a major movie!

Slayer-of-trolls responds:

Yeah thanks.

I wasn't intentionally trying to make it sound like Harry Potter music but I'll take that as a compliment cuz I did think film score music when I was making it.

Thanks for the compliment!

That was sad. And I mean it in a good way.

I just came across your music today, and I decided, "Well, he's high-ranked, that's a good sign." Little did I know that this song would drive me to near-suicidal despair: which is a good thing, believe me. It really evokes a response from the listener.

Many classic songs aren't very varied, which is why I was glad that yours had such a collection of instruments in it. Very good piece, and I believe my first-ever "10s around the board" review.

Slayer-of-trolls responds:

Cool! Thanks. Although I wasn't trying to drive you to suicide, I am glad at least that it invoked an intense reaction.

I am a happy person, really. :P

Thanks for the reviews and the straight 10s
